Focus of Presentation: This one hour session will provide guidance related to financial and estate planning for families of students with disabilities and legal guardianship concerns that should be addressed for long range planning.
(Evening Repeated Presentations) Time—6:00 to 6:30 Time—6:30 to 7:00 Time—7:00 to 7:30 (These “repeated sessions” will last 30 minutes and repeat at each of the three times indicated above.)
"Managed Care Changes”
Presenters: Lorie Winn, Care Coordinator DD Specialist, CoastalCare Angela Keith, Housing Development Manager CoastalCare
Focus of Presentation: This 30 minute repeated session will provide updates on the new managed care system that will be in place effective January 2013. Information on the changes & available services, no CAP waivers, and residential options will be discussed.
Focus of presentation: This 30 minute repeated session will provide information on how Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) can assist individuals with physical, mental, or learning-related disabilities who require assistance to prepare for, locate, or maintain employment compatible with their interests, skills & potential. For eligible students, VR may be able to provide vocational guidance & assist with training, job placement, and other services. In addition, presenters will focus on educating students, family members and school personnel for the effect of earnings on cash benefits and medical insurance. Supplemental Security Income and Social Security Disability Insurance benefit programs offer not only cash payments and health insurance, but also include numerous work incentives specifically designed to aid in successfully transitioning from school to adult life.
